Joseph Sparacio began his career with Prudential Financial in 1989. He was asked to lead the company's Boston office in 1996, then returned to Long Island in 2000 as the Managing Director of Prudential’s Uniondale office. In 2005, he joined MassMutual, and was the CEO and Managing Partner of The Island Financial Group, in Woodbury, New York. In January of 2012 Joe joined the home office of MassMutual and was appointed Agency Vice President of the Western Region Agency Focus Team. In May of 2013 he was named Senior Regional Vice President. Joe was named Head of National Sales and Recognition in August of 2016. Joe has been Head of MMFA Field Management since September of 2019.
Joe earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hofstra University in 1989 and has remained an active alumni. In 2003, he established “The Joseph Sparacio Endowed Scholarship” to assist students majoring in speech communications. In 2009 he was selected to serve on the Board of Trustees for Hofstra University.
In addition, Joe is very involved both as a major donor as well as an active volunteer for a number of charities, including the Breast Treatment Task Force and The American Cancer Society, which selected him as a 2007 Honoree at the Coaches Against Cancer Basketball Gala. Joe served on the board of directors for the Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor and the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization of Long Island where he was the 2008 honoree at their Annual Presidential Gala. He was also asked to be the 2010 honoree for the Cystic Fibrosis Breath of Life Gala.
Joe is an accomplished motivational speaker who participates in important industry engagements both in the United States and abroad. In 2006, Joe was selected to be a member of the GAMA Foundation Board of Trustees. He is a member of the President’s Circle and was a Charter Member of the Advisory Board of the new Center for Ethics in Financial Services at the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania where he was elected to the Alumni Hall of Fame in 2007, and currently serves on the College Foundation Board. A longtime member and advocate of NAIFA, Joe was recently appointed to the board of directors.
Joe is currently the General Agent of Texas National Financial Group, proud partner of National Life Group in Addison, Texas.
